Magellanic Penguin — 3D Modeling for Infographic
The objective of this project was to create an anatomically accurate 3D model of a Magellanic penguin for an educational infographic. The final presentation, produced by the Viva Magazine team, was awarded a Bronze Medal at Malofiej 2008, one of the most prestigious international infographic competitions.
The process began with a hand sketch by Jorge Portaz, guided by the creative direction of Hernán Cañellas. I carried out extensive research on skeletal structure and anatomical proportions to ensure scientific accuracy, while Hernán Cordero Funes collaborated on portions of the 3D modeling.
The result was a detailed and realistic model that combined artistic precision with factual integrity — a key factor in the project’s success and recognition.
